What an effort! We wanted to give a special shoutout to the efforts of community member, Peter Mourmouras! In two days, Peter organized and collected a truck and trailer full of water, food, gasoline, camping grills, and many other necessary items for the survivors of Hurricane Helene in North Carolina. Peter’s friends helped the effort by being a driving wingman, lending a larger trailer, and lending a larger truck.
Through his personal connections, Peter brought the truck and trailer to designated safe zones outside of the Asheville, NC area. A Running Passion was a small part in the effort bringing socks, towels, hats, and some left over snacks from our Cross Country Shoe Jamboree. A personal donation topped ARP’s contribution off with some soap, washcloths, non-perishable food items, and pet food. The power of community is amazing.
