We are very pleased to announce the class of 2019 Coach Will Fulford Memorial Scholarship recipients! Four students were awarded a combined $10,000. In three years, A Running Passion has awarded $29,500 to 14 very qualified student athletes from southern Maine.
For the third year in a row, student athletes were asked to apply and write a one page essay that discussed a life lesson they learned through sport. Topics included were: pushing and working through pain, the importance of empathy, perseverance through challenging situations resulting in gains no matter the outcome , and to always focus on the positives. This year’s recipients are:
Hannah D’ Orso, Kennebunk High School—University of Hartford
Sam Mills, Biddeford High School—University of Maine
Natalie Robinson, Wells High School—University of Maine
Sitsanok Young, Biddeford High School—Worcester Polytechnic Institute
